Night Currents 2025 is back again, releasing its second wave, leaving only one more wave until the full lineup is announced. How exciting! The team over at NC, haven't failed to make an astounding lineup, sure to blow the roof off of Wedgewood Rooms with its high energy levels, and immense talent.
3 brand new acts have been added: The Pill, Picture Parlour, and Y.
Jank punk Isle of Wight duo, The Pill, will be bringing unfiltered and raw mayhem. They are a very popular name within the punk community, and you will definitely find someone with a t-shirt with a cheeky slogan on if attending a gig in the punk music scene. They have supported the likes of HotWax and Panic Shack - a match made in heaven. The energy that these two bring to their performances is WILD! The choreography, although small, is what really ties together their gigs. It's tidy but messy, and I think that perfectly describes their music too. Green Day was impressed by The Pill, so you should be too - buy your tickets!
Indie rock darlings Picture Parlour will bring a sleazy and cinematic slice of rock ‘n’ roll to Portsmouth, previously supporting big names such as The Last Dinner Party, and even Bruce Springsteen at Hyde Park in 2023. “Talk About It”- Picture Parlour's new song, is now available on all streaming services, and if you don't yearn to head bang and dance with your friends at Night Currents after listening, I'm quite frankly concerned.
Catch the offshoot of Fat White Family, and PREGOBLIN- Y on their return to Portsmouth this autumn. They bring in elements of electro jazz and thrashing art rock, guaranteed to get your feet moving. Rightfully so, they have supported Fat Dog, Opus Kink and KEG.
Co-headlining are Swim School, and Honeyglaze. You can read all about them and the other names, in my article on the first wave of the lineup. Tickets are selling fast so make sure you don't miss out!
